Patients are screened to see if they are a candidate for having implant surgery. Some patients need bone grafting or other procedures to prepare for the placement of an implant.

The next appointment after the workup has been completed is usually the implant surgery. If a patient has any questions or concerns regarding their surgical options, a consult appointment is scheduled to allow Dr. Mark adequate time to discuss their unique surgical options.
A typical implant surgery appointment is scheduled for 1 hour. Most of the time, the surgery portion of the appointment is ~30 mins or less.
After an implant is placed, the patient needs to heal for approximately 4 months prior to placing an implant crown on the implant. This healing time is necessary to ensure proper bone growth and stability of the implant.
